The sixth annual Composites Australia / Composites CRC Conference and Trade show was held on 12th – 13th March 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

Despite the economy, the event saw a slight increase in total numbers over the previous year, with nearly 500 conference attendees and trade show visitors. Reflecting the economic forces, many visitors opted for low cost participation. This was reflected in a slight decrease in the number of conference delegates and a healthy increase in trade show visitors.

Quite a few local companies also took advantage of the new “Fabricators Friday” session as an opportunity to send their staff along to the Conference to learn more about the industry.

The graph below illustrates the attendance ove the past 6 years.  It is clear the event has ongoing support from industry and is serving a worthwhile purpose for those who attend.
